Some of what you will do:

Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for supporting and executing online merchandising and promotional initiatives, coordinating and executing updates for Staples.ca and improving the online customer experience. In addition, this position supports website enhancements and online merchandising system issues – troubleshooting issues that arise, identifying improvement opportunities and testing enhancements as they are introduced.

Specifically, You Will:

  • Support merchandising and marketing online promotional activity on staples.ca, working with cross functional groups to determine the best approach based on defined business objectives
  • Timely execution of website updates for impacted pages in the CMS - product category pages, promotional pages, etc.
  • Create and maintain new pages for promotional launches, campaigns, etc., following web best practices
  • Partner with Merchandising & Marketing teams to collect and execute promotions for all online product offers including but not exclusive to promotional pricing, SKU level messaging, coupon setup and maintenance
  • Effectively maintain strong cross-functional relationships with merchandising, content, marketing, SEO, creative, etc. to ensure smooth implementation and consistency of merchandising initiatives
  • Develop strong understanding of internal merchandising and web systems to troubleshoot merchandising system/process issues
  • Continually improve online promotional experience and execution by utilizing website enhancements, customer feedback/reviews, sales data, site metrics and other sources
  • Lead or participate in special projects as required.

Some of what you need:

  • Completion of post-secondary education with focus on ecommerce or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of web site structure, functionality, and software
  • Experience with content management systems such as Contentful
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, problem solving and managing to deliverable dates.
  • Analytic skills using Google Analytics
  • Strong computer skills and an ability to learn new software is critical
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with databases.
  • 1-3 years of website operations management.
